WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2022
In 1972, the United Nations General Assembly established the World Environment Day (WED) on June 5 and since then WED is observed by millions of people across the world. The WED is celebrated by engaging governments, businesses, celebrities, and citizens to focus their efforts on a pressing environmental issue. On June 5, 2022, the official theme was: THERE IS #OnlyOneEarth, TOGETHER WE CAN PROTECT IT.
As part of our celebration for WED, LINGAP-Canada held a Poster Contest where students were encouraged to produce an original design depicting the theme. The theme highlights the need to live sustainably in harmony with nature through transformative changes – towards cleaner, greener lifestyles, environmental and social justice focusing on Canada or the Philippines.
Judges were asked to rate each contestant's poster based on the following criteria:
